The chief executive of Airbus has stated that commercial aircraft manufacturers have constructed and assembled aircraft for 1 billion consumers. Another 6 billion consumers are however still at initial stages of service with airlines.

On the other hand, establishing figures such as those of the above are harder to determine and ascertain for business aircraft and helicopters. This is because the number of end users is narrower than that of commercial aircraft. Moreover, commercial aircraft manufacturers have a larger and deeper impact in the surfacing market. Nevertheless, the chief executive officer of Airbus predicted that the ratio would be more or less the same.
