The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) launched the Malta Gaming Authority Annual Report 2014 last Wednesday 24th June, at a business breakfast at the Hilton Malta.

During the Malta Gaming Authority Annual Report 2014 presenation,  Mr Cuschieri highlighted that 2014 has been a very dynamic year for the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the regulatory body in charge of both land based and remote gaming in Malta.

Having embarked on a multi-level transformation process of the Authority’s role within the global gaming market, and having transformed Malta’s jurisdictional position, the Malta Gaming Authority has undergone through a restructuring process, thus becoming even more efficient and pro-active in the day-to-day business. Executive Chairman, Joseph Cuschieri, highlighted the role played by Malta, in being a role model to other countries in terms of its proven experience, diligence and transparency in regulating gaming in Malta.

Witnessing another successful year with substantial growth in the Malta Gaming Authority’s portfolio of regulated licensees, the published Malta Gaming Authority Annual Report 2014 provides how the strengthening and developing of co-operative bilateral relations with other regulatory bodies has been one of the most salient developments during the year 2014, which year also saw the initiation of the review and total overhaul of the legal and regulatory gaming framework led by the Malta Gaming Authority’s legal team, with the aim of presenting consistent, technology-neutral and evidence-based proposals to the Government for its consideration.

During the Malta Gaming Authority Annual Report 2014 presenation, the Authority has presented its vision into three mutually reinforcing objectives, being quality, integrity and consumer protection, the implementation of a responsive regulatory framework and the proactive looking and identifying of new potential markets. Going forward, the Malta Gaming Authority is striving at strengthening its enforcement, compliance, player protection and investment in ICT and business intelligence, strategically planning to ensure the highest level of integrity, efficient, consumer protection and value across all supply channels.
