Renewable Energy: Wave Power Generation Farms in Malta

The Malta Council for Science and Technology is assisting Dexawave in the collection of data. This project has caused a lot of interest amongst the local Maltese community, particularly since the wave converter has been placed close to the coast.

The aim of Dexawave’s mission is to supply enough information and provide a source for an economical calculation in relation to the energy that can be produced in the Mediterranean Sea by operation of the converter. The information collected from such experiment shall be compared with other data acquired from the North Sea, where a bigger converter has been employed during the same experiment.

Dexawave shall carry on its tests until the end of 2012.
