Establishing Malta as a knowledge-oriented economy is one of the central goals of the Maltese Government. The Government declared his intention to encourage the creation of more Knowledge-Intensive businesses through the introduction of the Managed Seed Capital Fund.
By means of financial grants, the Fund will help Knowledge-Intensive businesses by directly financing their start-up. Furthermore, the Government is seeking to facilitate the creation of Knowledge-business through the introduction of the Proof Concept Fund – a Fund which gives final year and Master student projects within the engineering, science, ICT and medical and health sciences sectors the opportunity of further development, with particular focus on the creation of feasible prospects for ensuing business incubation.
