The Malta fund domicile is gaining increased market share. As reported by FTSE Global Markets, according to a global survey on the future of fund domiciliation and servicing carried out by International Fund Investment Global (IFI), Malta is emerging as a leading fund domicile and is gaining market share.
The findings of the survey which polled 75 fund managers and 25 major institutional investors around the world point towards Malta as being the first choice of domicile in the Mediterranean. The findings are deemed to be an attestation of Malta’s fast growth in the fund industry.
According to a survey on the future of fund domiciliation and servicing carried out by International Fund Investment Global (IFI) there is an increasing preference by institutional investors to allocate investments to onshore EU funds.
The survey demonstrates that Malta is popular with hedge fund managers. Fund managers gave a high rating to Malta in terms of satisfaction in their choice of domicile and in the standard of servicing, Malta ranked second only to Guernsey. Malta has been indicated as the best-known Mediterranean fund domicile; 76% of respondents have indicated their awareness of Malta as being a valid option when looking for a domicile in the EU.
